What is information literacy?

Information literacy is the ability to identify an information need, to locate, evaluate, use, and
communicate information in response to that need.

It is a process that:

* Must be internalized
* Integrated throughout the curriculum
* Reinforced throughout the learning community

Information literacy is changing in the in the digital age because of expanding accessibility to information across worldwide networks in a variety of formats. Even library services are moving online.

Today's students must possess skills to locate and use the “best” information in both print and digital forms.
